In Memory of Susanna De Castro

In Memory of Susanna De Castro

Susanna De Castro battled cancer for more than nine years. Sadly, on May 26, 2018, she lost her fight surrounded by family and friends. Instead of flowers at her funeral, Susanna asked people to donate to BCRC-WA.

For seven years prior to her passing, Susanna organized an annual afternoon tea to gather funds for breast cancer. In the last three years of her life, she focused her fundraising efforts on BCRC-WA, as a way of expressing her gratitude for the care she received from Professor Chan.

To this day, Susanna’s family and friends continue their fundraising efforts in her memory. They wish to continue fundraising in her honor for BCRC-WA so that “they can continue to undertake their wonderful work in caring for the community of WA.’’

BCRC-WA extends its heartfelt gratitude to Susanna’s loved ones for their ongoing fundraising efforts, and to all those who have contributed to this meaningful tribute. Since its inception in 2018, this initiative has raised over $47,000 in total.
