BCRC-WA conducts research into breast cancer treatment and care that underpins the treatment we provide to our patients.
On Friday 7 September, Prof Arlene Chan was presented with her Member of the Order (AM) of Australia award for ‘significant service to medicine in the field of oncology, particularly breast cancer support, diagnosis and treatment’ at Parliament House by the Governor of Western Australia, The Honourable Kim Beazley AC.
The Order of Australia is the principal and most prestigious means of recognising outstanding members of the community who have benefitted their communities, and ultimately their country.
The Order of Australia comprised four levels and two divisions (General and Military):
1. Companion of the Order (AC) 2. Officer of the Order (AO) 3. Member of the Order (AM) 4. Medal of the Order (OAM)
