MEET OURAmbassadors
Community Ambassadors are a dedicated group of individuals across Western Australia who have been personally impacted by breast cancer. By sharing their powerful stories, they highlight the vital need for continued investment in world-class research. These Ambassadors represent our mission at fundraising and educational events, turning lived experience into community action.

Research is fundamental to improving outcomes and survival for women and men diagnosed with breast cancer. The Breast Cancer Research Centre-WA is deeply committed to participating in clinical trials that have not only advanced the standard of care for breast cancer treatment but have also provided patients with access to innovative and emerging therapies.
Following my diagnosis, I was supported by exceptional breast care nurses and a dedicated psychology service at the Breast Cancer Research Centre-W.A. who walked beside me through the physical and emotional challenges of cancer. Their compassion, guidance and expertise helped me rebuild my strength, regain my confidence, and ultimately grow into the strong, resilient woman I am today.

Nobody thinks that cancer will knock on their door. But it does. And it knocked on mine- loudly! I was blessed to be surrounded by the amazing professionals at the Breast Cancer Research Centre. Professionals who treated me with respect, kindness and the best care ever.
I’m honoured to accept the role of ambassador for the BCRC-WA, which allows me to educate about and advocate for an organisation that means so much to me. I am looking forward to making a contribution for many years to come.

Raising awareness about breast cancer is so important. I think no one is immune from cancer, at any age, and certainly wasn’t something I was expecting. The more we can do to promote awareness and advocate for your own health, and do your own checks and follow up those niggles. The more people we can touch and reach, we are
doing a good job.
