As the end of another financial year approaches, I am reaching out to you with a heartfelt appeal.

The Breast Cancer Research Centre – WA is a non-profit organisation uniquely dedicated to being a comprehensive centre for breast cancer patients in Western Australia. Patients can find all necessary services under one roof, ensuring a seamless and compassionate journey through their breast cancer experience.

Our patients are at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to a patient-focused, research-based approach to breast cancer treatment and care. Our multi-disciplinary teams work together to provide the best possible outcomes by combining world-class diagnosis, clinical care and cutting-edge clinical trials.

We currently have 17 breast cancer clinical trials underway, the most in WA, offering our patients exclusive access to groundbreaking treatments. Moments like hearing that a patient’s tumour has shrunk by 10cm thanks to one of our clinical trials inspire us to keep pushing forward in our quest for a cure.

In 2023, our Early Breast Care Nurse supported 178 patients completing chemotherapy, while our Metastatic Breast Care Nurse assisted 225 patients and their families. Additionally, BCRC-WA funded 136 Clinical Psychology consultations for patients and their loved ones.

Over the past two years, we have seen 6,000 new patients, aged 18 to 104, and our commitment has never been stronger. Your donation to the Breast Cancer Research Centre – WA will directly impact our ability to:

• Provide Free Access to Specialised Breast Cancer Nurses: Ensuring access to professional medical advice and support.
• Offer Access to Support Groups: Including PYNKS, a free supportive social group for patients with metastatic breast cancer.
• Subsidise Genetic Counselling and Support Services: Making crucial services more accessible and affordable.
• Provide Free Clinical Psychology Services: Offering psychological support for patients and their families.
