In April 2014, Breast Cancer Research Centre-WA launched the first breast cancer specific tumour bank in Western Australia in conjunction and partnership with Western Diagnostic Pathology.

Tumour banks have been established by international world class cancer centres in a collaborative effort to understand cancer behaviour and ultimately improve patient survival rates.

BCRC-WA is a registered not-for-profit organisation, constituted to enable research into all aspects of breast cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment and patient education and support. To date we have almost 3000 samples banked and we are encouraged greatly by the eagerness of every patient to be part of this project.
