Above & Beyond
Wellbeing recommendations from the BCRC-WA staff
Above & Beyond is a series designed to offer insights and recommendations from BCRC-WA staff aimed at improving your well-being and accompanying you on your journey.
Abstract Physio
I first crossed paths with Tracey from Abstract Physio during an informative session with members of the PYNKS support group for metastatic patients. Since then, several of our PYNKS members have continued their journeys with Tracey, and the feedback has been nothing short of inspiring.
Abstract Physio, led by the remarkable Tracey Harvey, is a sanctuary of healing and hope. Tracey is not just a physiotherapist; she’s an exercise physiologist, an ALA Lymphoedema Therapist, a Pinc&Steel Oncology Physiotherapist, and believe it or not, a professional artist. She’s woven together these talents and qualifications to create an environment that feels more like an art gallery than a rehabilitation centre.
Tracey offers personalized 1:1 physiotherapy and lymphoedema consultations, ensuring that each individual receives tailored care. If you’re looking to regain your strength and fitness, the “Next Step” program features small group exercise classes designed just for that purpose. And for those of you seeking a more holistic approach to well-being, the “Live Laugh Move Play” classes blend relaxation, art, and exercise in a supportive group setting that’s simply uplifting.
From what I’ve heard from the PYNKS, it’s clear that Abstract Physio’s evidence-based programs and Tracey’s uplifting approach are making a real difference in the lives of our patients.
