Our leadership team at the Breast Cancer Research Centre – WA is not only committed to pioneering research but also to providing compassionate care and unwavering support to those affected by breast cancer.

CEO

Sarah Fordham

Sarah Fordham has been the CEO of the Breast Cancer Research Centre WA since December 2022.

Sarah Fordham has been the CEO of the Breast Cancer Research Centre WA since December 2022.

Prior to this role she has worked for global and multinational companies such as Qantas, Shell and Alcoa, in community partnerships, philanthropic grants, disaster relief, indigenous engagement, brand and marketing.

Sarah, was the youngest state Marketing Manager for Qantas ,the Brand Manager for Shell in Australia and has been nominated for a WA Business News40 under 40 award and Telstra Businesswoman of the Year awards.

Her not-for-profit experience includes being the WA CEO for the Heart Foundation , State Manager for Make A Wish for WA/SA and the Development Manager at Telethon Kids.

Jeannette Devoto

Jeannette was educated in Western Australia and undertook a Diploma of Nursing at the Western Australian School of Nursing.

Jeannette was educated in Western Australia and undertook a Diploma of Nursing at the Western Australian School of Nursing following her school years. She worked in one of the large teaching hospitals in Perth before moving to the UK to continue her nursing experience there, mainly in the areas of ICU and cardiothoracic nursing.

Jeannette spent a great number of years living in Italy and working for a French Pharmaceutical Marketing Research Company managing the Italian market.

It was her experience in Europe that paved the way to joining BCRC-WA when she returned to live in Perth. She has had the pleasure of working in BCRC-WA’s Breast Clinical Trials Unit for many years now, initially joining the team in the role of research nurse and later took on the role of manager.

She loves the work BCRC-WA performs and the commitment the organisation has towards patients.

COO / CFO

Fiona Cocks

In her role as COO / CFO at BCRC – WA, Fiona is responsible for assisting the CEO and Board in determining and implementing financial and commercial strategy for the various parts of the organization.

After graduating from UWA in 1993 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Fiona spent most of her career in the fields of investment banking and corporate advisory, with the majority of her career at Macquarie Bank in Perth and Sydney and at a number of corporate advisory firms in Perth.

In 2021, Fiona made the switch from corporate advisory to not-for-profit with the vision of applying her financial and corporate experience to a cause which is close to her heart and at an organization with a reputation as a world-leader in breast cancer research and clinical trials. In her role as COO / CFO at BCRC – WA, Fiona is responsible for assisting the CEO and Board in determining and implementing financial and commercial strategy for the various parts of the organization.

Outside of work, Fiona enjoys travel, spending time with her family and relaxing when she can.
