CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) Notice for all patients and visitors.
We are a clinician-led organisation where patient education and support services are initiated by the very people who treat breast cancer patients every day.
Your donation will help us enhance breast cancer treatment and care, and increase survival rates.
We began in 2009 with a vision to provide high quality care while conducting research that would deliver the most advanced treatments and save lives.
BCRC-WA conducts research into breast cancer treatment and care that underpins the treatment we provide to our patients.
PBCI will help us continue to reshape the future of breast cancer – offering world class treatment, care and support to patients and their families.
The clinic brings three very experienced breast physicians into the already impressive multidisciplinary team of breast and oncoplastic surgeons, medical oncologists, genetic counsellor, RNs, clinical psychologists and other dedicated support personnel at BCRC-WA.
This newest addition of the Breast Clinic to PBCI, the clinical arm of BCRC-WA, ensures that men and women can be supported by the same team in the same location from the very beginning of their breast cancer journey. With Perth Radiological Clinic now on site at the Hollywood Consulting Centre, patients will be able to undergo breast imaging and see a breast physician on the same day.
With PRC reserving appointment times especially for PBCI consultants, those patients requiring further biopsy or other imaging could even be able to complete those that same day. This streamlining of the diagnosis process will be especially valuable for our country patients to complete tests and appointments without needing to pay for extra nights’ accommodation in many cases.
The clinic will also provide a comprehensive and streamlined service for patients with a benign breast diagnosis. Being able to attend an imaging appointment on site followed by a review with a physician will provide prompt feedback and diagnosis, a huge relief for anybody undergoing investigations for breast symptoms. Ongoing surveillance and management of benign breast conditions such as fibroadenomas, dense breasts or cysts, to name a few, will be part of the care offered at the Breast Clinic.
‘As Breast Physicians, we bring a wealth of experience and take pride in drawing on our previous work in General Practice to provide both up-to-date specialist knowledge and holistic care. We believe in treating all our patients equally, listening to their concerns and addressing their needs with professionalism and compassion.’
