Breast Care Nurses

BCRC-WA Breast Care Nurses

At BCRC-WA we have two dedicated Breast Care Nurses who provide support to patients of Professor Arlene Chan and Dr Peter Willsher with Early and Metastatic Breast Cancer.


Cath Griffiths Early Breast Care Nurse

Cath began her nursing career in Oncology at Princess Margaret Hospital. Later she worked at the Mount Hospital in Surgical and Medical Oncology.

Over 30 years, she has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and nursing experience caring for cancer patients. In her role at BCRC-WA, Cath provides education and support to patients and their families. Her chief focus is assisting patients undergoing chemotherapy after surgery.

Amanda Goddard Advanced Breast Care Nurse

Amanda has filled an important role caring for our patients with metastatic breast cancer and supporting their families and loved ones.

Originally from the UK, Amanda has a wealth of experience having worked in medical oncology nursing roles in both the UK and WA, at the Mount Hospital and Fiona Stanley Hospital. In her role, Amanda addresses patient concerns which may include disease trajectory, family issues, symptom management and facilitating other services such as (e.g) pathology, radiology physiotherapy.

She also helps patients and their families plan for the best possible outcomes during treatment and provides education, support and guidance to patients while undergoing treatment, recovery and rehabilitation.To complement her role, she’s started a post graduate certificate in Breast Care Nursing.

Dawn Johnson Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist

Dawn provides the vital role of caring for our patients who will undergo surgery for breast cancer.

Dawn started her nursing career as a surgical nurse in the UK 15 years ago. This is where she obtained the post graduate qualifications required the role as a Macmillan Breast Care Nurse Specialist in 2007.

Dawn’s role as a Breast Care Nurse Consultant provides support and information at or shortly following a breast cancer diagnosis

Some of this support includes onsite support and advice during our patients hospital stay and continued support and advice following a patients stay in hospital and throughout their treatment.

Dawn also provides practical assistance such as seroma drainage, wound care, providing prosthesis/bra fitting as well as providing links to health services and support resources.
