Breast Cancer Research Centre - WA

BCRC-WA will not knock at your door for a donation

A commonly asked question we receive is if we do phone, door knock or request donations at shopping centers? The answer is NO – we do NOT (never have and never will) solicit donations at public venues such as shopping centers or via phone or door knock appeals. If you have donated these methods, this would have been to a different charity unrelated to our organisation.

If you have concerns about a door knocker, contract the Charity connected to the door knocker. If you are concerned that it may be a scam or otherwise, contact your local police station.

*Doorknockers must:
  • Explain upfront the purpose of the visit.
  • Carry identification stating their full name and address, and the name and address of the business they represent.
  • Explain that they are required to leave upon the consumer’s request.
  • Leave the premises immediately on the request.

Remember to never give out personal information such as your bank account details to a door knocker or anyone asking for this information over the phone/or via email.
