Ella_Alex_Di_Lyn_Annie_Barabara_IreneMetastatic breast cancer (also known as secondary or advanced breast cancer) is where the cancer has spread from the breast to other areas of the body. The `PYNKS’ (Positive, Young (and Young at heart), Nurturing, Kid/Family Focussed, Strength Giving) group meet every 2-3 months at Hollywood Private Hospital and provide support and educational information for younger women and those young at heart with metastatic breast cancer.

The focus of the group is provide up-to-date and accurate information on various aspects of metastatic breast cancer, as well as on the latest research trial results, health & dietary requirements, as well as some general leisure relaxation and craft activities. With much information on the internet that may be questionable, it is reassuring to receive accurate and relevant information about metastatic breast cancer.

In addition, the group have developed an important piece of literature aimed at informing families and friends of women diagnosed with breast cancer, as to what is important in the minds of women diagnosed with breast cancer. The Power of Words brochure is a unique “guide” written to help friends, relatives and supporters of all women with breast cancer to more fully understand what they can say and so to provide the best support for their loved one with breast cancer.
